Vasectomy – No Needle, No Scalpel

Many individuals and couples make the decision not to have any more children. Many men fear a vasectomy and look to have their partner ‘tie their tubes’. The truth is a vasectomy is a simple minimally invasive procedure and much less involved than for a women to have her tubes tied.

A vasectomy today with modern techniques can be done in 20 minutes in the office without much discomfort. Some men choose to have it done at a surgery center with sedation or anesthesia. In the past a needle was used for the local anesthesia and then a scalpel was used for the procedure.

Today we perform a NO needle No scalpel vasectomy

in place of a needle a spray is used to numb the nerves and in place of a scalpel, small microsurgical instruments are used to spread the skin very gently. Many men listen to their IPOD or read a book and then no sooner is the procedure over. Many men drive themselves to the office and home after the procedure.

A vasectomy does NOT affect a man’s hormones or erections or ‘manhood’ in any way. The volume and consistency of the ejaculate is often unchanged. Men need to take it easy after the vasectomy for a day or so with ice on the area in question. Men need to perform a semen test 4-6 weeks after the procedure to make sure they are ‘shooting blanks’

Dr Gary Bellman is an expert in performing this procedure;
he is both gentle and caring.
